Pick what you need to buy and enter your measurements. You see how much you need, always rounded up, with the working. The product's own numbers, such as coverage or density, you enter yourself.
The fields hold an example. Replace them with your own measurements.

Add pieces together, or subtract one (for example a pond or a column).
For example 60 for a 60 × 30 cm tile.
Leaving it empty counts as no joint.

For the weight. Density differs by kind and moisture: ask your supplier or read it in the product information or on the delivery note. Briefbee deliberately names no values here.

How this page calculates
Every result comes from the numbers you enter. The page knows no products: the size of a tile, the coverage of a paint and the density of sand you read on the label, in the product information or on the delivery note, or ask your supplier.
Nothing is rounded along the way. Only when the working is done does what you need to buy go up to the next whole number: you cannot buy half a tile or half a tin.
The formulas
- Tiles and boards: pieces = area × (1 + extra%) ÷ (length × width of one piece, joint included). Packs = pieces ÷ pieces per pack, or area ÷ m² per pack.
- Paint: litres = area × coats ÷ coverage × (1 + extra%). Tins = litres ÷ content of one tin.
- Sand, gravel, soil: m³ = area × layer thickness (cm) ÷ 100 × (1 + extra%). Tonnes = m³ × density.
- Concrete: slab = length × width × thickness; strip = length × width × depth; column = width × depth × height × number. Sizes in cm are divided by 100 first.
- Lengths: pieces = total length × (1 + extra%) ÷ length of one piece.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the page round up?
You buy whole tiles, whole tins and whole pieces. Rounding down leaves you short. So the page calculates exactly and only rounds what you need to buy up.
Which coverage or density should I enter?
That of your product. Briefbee names no values, because they differ by brand, kind and moisture. You find them on the label, in the product information or on the delivery note, or you ask your supplier.
How much extra should I allow for loss?
That is your choice. The page uses the percentage you enter and makes no suggestion. Leaving it empty counts as 0%.
Why will the page not read “1,234”?
It could be 1.234, but also 1234. Instead of guessing, the page asks you to write it unambiguously: 1234 or 1.2.
Are round columns or other shapes possible?
Not yet. The page calculates a slab, a strip and a rectangular column.
Are my numbers stored?
No. The calculation runs in your browser and your numbers never go to a server. We only count anonymously how the page is used (no cookies, no IP address). Only if you tick “Remember my input” yourself does your own browser keep the numbers on your own device.
