Outdoor work weather
Pick your town and set your own limits for rain, temperature and wind. For each of the next seven days you see how many hours of your working time are forecast dry, and which of your limits the forecast stays within.
The limits are set to an example. Replace them with your own values.
Where do you work?
Four digits, or with letters. Your postcode stays in your browser: it only picks the nearest town on the list.
Working hours
Only the hours in this window count. The example is 07:00 to 18:00.
Your limits
Leave a field empty if you do not want to use that limit. The values below are examples.
An hour counts as dry at up to this many millimetres. Example: 0.1.
Take the value from the data sheet of the material you work with (paint, adhesive, grout, concrete). Example: 5.
Mean wind speed per hour, in kilometres per hour. Example: 30.
Only in your own browser, not on our server. Unticking clears it again.

How the hours are counted
MET Norway, the Norwegian meteorological institute, publishes the forecast for a point on the map. We use a fixed list of towns in the Netherlands, so the forecast belongs to the centre of that town and not to your site. With showers that can matter.
For roughly the first three days the forecast is hourly. After that MET Norway gives a six-hour period. We spread such a period evenly over its six hours, and mark those days as a 6-hour forecast.
An hour counts as dry if the forecast precipitation in that hour is no higher than your rain limit. Temperature and wind are the values from the data package; the wind is an hourly mean, without gusts. Everything is compared in whole tenths of a degree and hundredths of a millimetre, so there is no rounding fuzz.
Frequently asked questions
Where does the forecast come from?
From MET Norway (Locationforecast 2.0), under the CC BY 4.0 licence. We fetch the data per town through our own server and keep it briefly, so your visit sends nothing to MET Norway.
What is sent about me?
Only the town you pick. A postcode, your limits and your working hours stay in your browser. No cookies are set. We count anonymously how the page is used.
Why is there no verdict?
How much rain, cold or wind your work can take depends on your material and method. So you only see facts, with your own limits beside them. For materials, read the product data sheet.
Are these official warnings?
No. This page shows no warnings. For weather alerts and current forecasts, see knmi.nl.
Why are there no gusts?
The data package we use contains no gusts. So the page only shows the mean wind speed per hour.
How current is it?
Forecasts change. Every forecast shows the time we fetched the data. We refresh it after thirty minutes at the earliest.
